MACFAST MSW Students Shine at DCL–SOB Unified Special School Fest

As part of the DCL–SOB Unified Special School Fest organized by the Deepika Children’s League, MSW students from MACFAST—Ansu K Sam, Ancy Pappachan, and Jyothilekshmi T. S—participated in various cultural events along with the students of M.G.M Bethany Shanthi Bhavan Special School for the Mentally Challenged, Kadamankulam. They were invited to support and participate alongside the children of the institution, promoting inclusion and togetherness.

The programme was held at St. John of God Special School, Pampady on 10 March 2026 (Tuesday). In the cultural competitions, Ancy Pappachan and Jyothilekshmi T. S participated in the Nadan Pattu (folk song) competition under the Common General category, where a total of 12 teams competed. Ansu K Sam participated in the Unified Craft Making competition, which had 10 participating teams.

All three participants performed successfully and were awarded A Grade in their respective events, recognizing their effort and talent in the unified cultural festival.

The event also brought great pride to M.G.M Bethany Shanthi Bhavan Special School, Kadamankulam, which secured the Overall Second Prize in the festival.

The unified fest served as a meaningful platform that promoted inclusion, talent, and collaboration between students, highlighting the spirit of unity and support for children with special needs.

“Kuttikuppayam” Initiative Launched for CNCP Children at DCPU Kollam

Our MSW (2nd Semester) students- Albin, Ancy, Ansu, Aparna and Jyothi Lekshmi, have launched a Resource Mobilization initiative for CNCP children, at the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kollam, titled ” Kuttikuppayam “. The programme was inaugurated by Adv. Bindu Krishna, Minister for Women and Child Development, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy Development. The programme was presided over by the Smt. Annie Julie Thomas, IAS District Collector of Kollam.
