Tiruvalla: The Department of Social Work at Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies Tiruvalla (MACFAST), in association with SWAYAM and the MACFAST Women’s Cell, is organizing a special program titled “Jwala – Flame of Strength” in connection with International Women’s Day.

The program will be held on 11 March 2026 at 3:00 PM at the College Auditorium. The event aims to celebrate women’s strength, promote awareness, and acknowledge the valuable contributions of women in society.

As part of the program, an awareness class will be conducted by Dr. Anitha Jose, Former Principal of Assumption College, Changanassery. The program will also include a special honouring ceremony for the college cleaning and kitchen staff in recognition of their dedication and service.

In addition, the Department of Social Work will organize the distribution of sanitary pads to the children of Balabhavan, Kuttoor, Tiruvalla, as part of its social outreach initiative to promote menstrual health awareness and support underprivileged girls.

Through this initiative, the organizers aim to spread the message of empowerment, dignity, and strength of women, reflecting the true spirit of International Women’s Day.
