ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Psychology at MACFAST was established in 2026 with the introduction of the B.Sc. Psychology (FYUGP) Honours Programme, designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the scientific study of human behaviour, cognition, emotion, and mental processes. The Department is committed to creating a stimulating academic environment that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, empathy, scientific inquiry, and professional competence.

The programme aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in diverse areas of psychology while encouraging them to understand human behaviour from scientific, social, and applied perspectives. Through classroom learning, practical training, experiential activities, and exposure to contemporary developments in the field, the Department seeks to prepare students for higher education, research, and emerging career opportunities in psychology and allied fields.
