About MSW
The Master of Social Work (MSW) program at MACFAST, aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to become competent and committed social work professionals. Combining theoretical learning with practical experience, our students are well-prepared to tackle complex social issues and advocate for positive change in diverse communities.
GOAL
Students gain excellent knowledge and practical Social Work training, whereby, they become committed and competent Social Work Professionals.
OBJECTIVES
- Help the Student Social Workers (SSWs) to identify their Attitudes, Aptitudes and Skill areas.
- Train the SSWs in a manner that they diagnose and analyze every stakeholder’s situation uniquely and objectively, so that they may be given optimum Social Work intervention.
- Ensure appropriate guidance to each SSW through Mentoring.
- Inculcate the habit of value-based committed Social Work practice and competency.
- Help the students to have in-depth knowledge of theories and principles, and help them to practice them in the present scenario with vigor and enthusiasm.
- Develop professionalism in SSWs and uphold social work values.
Curriculum:
The MSW program, offered by Mahatma Gandhi University, encompasses a broad spectrum of topics, including human behavior, social policy, community development, clinical practice, and research methods. This program is structured to be completed in two years (4 semesters) of full-time study, incorporating both field practicum and dissertation work.
