Nature enthusiasts across Kerala have been observing June 14th as the ‘Induchoodan Commemoration Day’ every year. The day marks the death anniversary of Prof. K.K. Neelakantan, popularly known by his pen name Induchoodan. Prof. Neelakantan is the doyen of birdwatching in Kerala and is considered as birdman of Kerala, as much as Salim Ali is considered the birdman of India.
This year marks the 30th death anniversary of Prof. Neelakantan and to commemorate the day a lecture titled ‘Aarayirunnu Induchoodan?’ (‘Who was Induchoodan?’) is being organized by the Forestry Club on Thursday, 23rd June 2022 in the Conference Hall at 4:30 PM. Sri. C. Susanth, renowned naturalist & author of numerous books and articles on natural history and nature conservation, an expert in fields of ornithology, lepidopterology and odonatology, and who had very close association with Prof. Neelakantan, will deliver the commemoration day lecture.
