Beyond the teaching-learning process an educational institution grows when it strives to embrace the essence of knowledge-creation through potentially fruitful research and then endeavours to translate this knowledge to the stakeholders and thereby, fulfill its greater role in the society. MACFAST, since its inception, has given substantial thrust to research and extension activities. This is evident from the numerous flagship research and extension projects that were funded by national and state level funding agencies in the past years. These funding agencies include Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, National Medicinal Plants Board, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE) and the Asoka Trust.
Additionally, mini projects are also being undertaken with support of the college. Through these mini projects regular students of the college get an opportunity to address a scientific question of their choice or associate with an ongoing one and get themselves introduced into the fascinating world of research.
