MACFAST Innovation & Corporate Synergy (MICS)
MACFAST Innovation & Corporate Synergy (MICS) is an interactive and collaborative arrangement between academic institutions and business corporations for the achievement of certain mutually inclusive goals and objectives. The industry-academia interface transacts with the transfer of knowledge and experience/technology. With the idea of acquiring knowledge and cultivating the right scientific temperament as well as developing technical skills by providing specialized in-housetraining in the diverse fields of Computer Science, the Department of Computer Applications has introduced a two-week MICS programme on Advanced Java Web Technologies at CDAC, Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram. Such an interface can give rise to a robust, high quality, interdependent, long-term relationship between industry and academy leading to a vibrant situation for both.
Add-on Courses

Seminars, Workshops and Invited Talks
Workshops and hand on sessions are conducted on a regular basis, to put on practice, the theoretical concepts learned in the classrooms. To broaden their knowledge in the emerging technologies, the department frequently conducts seminars and invited talks with the support of experienced resource persons from the industry.
Communication Skill Development Council
Communication is fundamental to the existence and survival of humans as well as to an organization. It is a process of creating and sharing ideas, information, views, facts, feelings, etc. among the people to reach a common understanding. Effective Communication is significant for professionals in the organizations so as to perform the basic functions of management, i.e., Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling.
A professional may be highly qualified and skilled but if he does not possess good communication skills, all his ability becomes irrelevant. A professional must communicate his directions effectively to the subordinates to get the work done from them properly. With this understanding MACFAST constituted the Communication skill development council in the academic year 2018-19, specifically to engage with activities that enable a student to cater his future needs of communication. Moreover, institutions like MACFAST look into the prosperity of its students in terms of placing him in a better company where communication skills play a major role.
